INHA publishes a newsletter at least twice a year which reports on progress in research, coordinated development of research, assists in organizing funding efforts for research, and provides updates on other affairs of the organization and its members. Generally, INHA conducts one field trip a year, in the spring, coinciding with the Iowa Academy of Science Annual Meeting and the INHA annual business meeting. INHA has an annual fall banquet and program, followed the next day by open discussions of the annual Foray results, IAS symposium planning, or other designated natural history topics. Guidebooks prepared for field trips are free to any members attending the trip and, upon request, free to all members within one year of the trip.
If you are interested in natural history, or any of its various subdisciplines (i.e., ecology, zoology, botany, geology, geography, or archaeology) or even camaraderie with such a group, consider joining the Iowa Natural History Association.
