The Fall INHA Meeting
The fall meeting of the Iowa Natural History Association will be held in Cedar Falls on 21 and 22 November 2003. It will be sponsored by Terry VanDeWalle.
Friday Evening Dinner Meeting - We will meet at 6:30 pm at The Broom Factory restaurant for dinner and the after dinner presentation. Terry VanDeWalle will present results of his study on the ecology of the eastern massasauga rattlesnake along the Upper Wapsipinicon River in Iowa. The study is a long-term mark and recapture and radio telemetry study.
The Broom Factory is located at 125 W. 1st Street in Cedar Falls.
From U.S. 20:
Exit at Hudson Road and head north to West 1st Street. Turn right
(east) and follow West 1st Street for a little over a mile. The Broom
Factory is on the north side of the road before the stoplight at Main Street.
From Highway 218:
Take the Highway 57 exit. This will take you into Cedar Falls.
Go straight through the stoplight at Main Street. The Broom Factory
is on the north side (right) of the road.
Saturday Morning Meeting - at 9:00 am at UNI. The room has yet to
be determined. The room location and a map will be sent prior to
the meeting.

1. Approval of minutes of Fall 2002 Meeting.
2. Treasurer's Report.
3. Report on studies completed in 2003 -- Tom, Jim, Neil, Jeff, and others.
4. Report on the collaboration of the INHA and the Iowa DOT on a project that would complete a comprehensive community characterization at 24 DOT mitigation sites across Iowa.
5. Loess Hills Project - Is it time? Funding from Upper Miss. Valley Cooperative Ecosystems Studies Unit requires matching funds. Comments from DNR.
6. Iowa’s State Comprehensive Wildlife Plan.
7. Discussion of any new proposals we wish to pursue for 2004.
New Business
1. Election of Officers.
2. Location and sponsor of next fall meeting.
3. Spring meeting.
